A World Upside Down – A Bear Who Sparked A Nuclear Scare and “Death Con 3”
Sixty years ago today, a black bear apparently attempted to circumnavigate the security perimeter at Duluth Air Force Base in the dark of night. This facility was home to over 130 nuclear missiles, already on heightened state of readiness due to the unfolding Cuban Missile Crisis.
